懷德居家具知識館－－台灣第一所家具設計專門圖書館</td></tr></tbody></table>一直很希望台灣也能有村上春樹＜海邊的卡夫卡＞那樣的圖書館，就在上星期日（12/12/2004）在山明水秀地靈人傑的林口嘉寶村，一所那樣的家具設計專門圖書館開幕了！和甲村圖書館一樣，是由祖宅改建而成圖書館的。「<a href="http://hdgr.org/hdgr.org_non_ssl/moh/">懷德居</a>」原來是台北科技大學工業設計系林東陽教授家族的三合院祖宅，有感於林教授對家具研究數十年如一日的熱誠，今年四月在家族兩代協力合作之下釋出西廂成立「懷德居家具知識館」。一位全心全意致力家具研究的退休教授，結合各方資源捐出個人館藏與收藏，希望這個小型專門圖書館可以成為家具設計界的知識交流空間，建立整合性的公共資料庫，創制知識分享機制，帶領台灣家具教育與家具產業質變形變，讓台灣的家具產業發展成為創意產業，在國際舞台耀眼登場。在 「懷德居家具知識館」內蒐藏了一千多冊有關家具設計的專書，以及林教授個人家具研究的論述與相關論文、型錄等資訊，是林教授多年心血的結晶，無私地整理提供對家具研究有興趣的人士參考。更難能可貴的是，林教授個人斥資數十萬遠從德國進口的近百張世界名椅模型，其結構、造型、材質，完全按照原尺寸縮小為1：6，堪稱袖珍極品，是研究教學的好材料。由於人力資源的限制，目前採預約開放方式服務大眾，有興趣前往參觀的朋友，請結合親朋好友，利用email<a href="mailto:tylin@ntut.edu.tw%20<tylin@ntut.edu.tw>">與林教授預約</a>，當然更希望大家共同支持這樣一所深具特色的專門圖書館，讓他成為一顆種子，在台灣各地成長茁壯。在大家前往懷德居參觀之前，先為大家做個簡單的導覽。因為是祖宅所以有庭院、有接待室、中庭、會議室、茶水間，然後才是藏書與展示空間。二樓還有客房，將來讀者搞不好還可以掛單，而不用為了蒐集資料舟車勞頓。<div Library</td></tr></tbody></table>林東陽教授的家具知識館是受到美國北卡High Point家具圖書館(<a href="http://www.furniturelibrary.com/">Bernice Bienenstock Furniture Library</a>)的啟發，該館網站內容很簡單，不過由首頁可知其定位為A Store of Information, Illustration and Inspiration。不僅是世界家具研究的中心，更是室內裝潢、設計、建築的研究中心。家具圖書館成立於1970年，，館藏七千冊家具相關書籍，其中有部分是1640年之古籍，以及18世紀家具設計大師Chippendale, Sheraton和 Hepplewhite的成套作品，多係無價之寶。。座落在家具製造與行銷中心的北卡，提供家具設計從業人員、教育人員和社會大眾，接近家具，認識家具，創新家具的機會。網站並販售家具相關出版。The Furniture Library   <a href="http://www.design-museum.de/index.php">Vitra Design Museum</a>，當然得上其網站逛逛。家具知識館網站上對Vitra公司有詳細介紹，對家具設計有興趣的朋友可以在<a href="http://www.vitra.com/">Vitra</a>網站上找到每件家具的設計師、同時提供設計背景與製造行銷的相關資訊。<table Panton與Vitra 設計團隊的作品，Panton多年來一直希望能生產一體成型的塑膠椅，終於在1967年，Panton的椅子進入大量生產，立即造成轟動，同時贏得多項大獎。如今Panton chair在紐約現代美術館展示。</td><td valign="top" width="31%"><img height="137"
